What Can & Can’t Be Repaired
Most everyday floor damage is repairable in place, without lifting or replacing boards or tiles. As a rule, if the damage sits in the surface or the top wear layer, we can almost always restore it invisibly:
- Scratches, scuffs and light gouges in wood, laminate, LVT and vinyl
- Chips and cracks in stone, tile and terrazzo
- Burns, heat marks and dents
- Worn, dull or patchy lacquer and finish
- Failed seams, lifting edges and water-swollen joints (assessed case by case)
Full replacement is usually the better option only when a board or tile is broken through its entire thickness, when water damage has spread into the subfloor, or when a large area has lost its wear layer completely. Even then we can often repair a defined section rather than redo the whole floor. Not sure which applies to yours? Send a photo and we’ll tell you honestly, with no obligation.
How Long Repairs Take
Most single-area floor repairs are completed in one visit, often within a few hours, and the floor is ready to walk on the same day. Larger jobs — full re-lacquering, sanding and refinishing, or repairs across several rooms — are scheduled over one or more days and planned around your site so trading or a tenancy isn’t disrupted.
Floors are one of the most common surfaces we restore across the capital — see our surface repair London hub, or read more about scratch repair in London for scratched wood and laminate floors.
