Fibreglass (GRP — Glass Reinforced Plastic) is found throughout the built environment in London: flat roofs, bath panels, shower enclosures, garden planters, boat hulls, architectural mouldings and more. When it cracks, chips or degrades, professional repair is far more cost-effective than replacement. Shazam Repairs provides specialist fibreglass and GRP repair across London for residential and commercial clients.

How GRP Repair Works
Our technicians use matched gelcoat, fibreglass matting and specialist resins to rebuild damaged sections, restoring both the structural integrity and the surface appearance of the GRP. Colour matching is achieved using tinted gelcoats and finishing compounds, producing results that blend with the surrounding surface. Most repairs are completed in a single visit.

When to Repair vs Replace GRP
For most localised GRP damage — cracks, chips, minor delamination — repair is absolutely the right call. It’s faster, cheaper and causes far less disruption than replacement. For a GRP flat roof, repair of localised damage extends the roof’s life significantly and is far more cost-effective than a full replacement until the roof reaches end of life. For baths, planters and architectural elements, replacement usually means expensive custom moulding — repair makes far more economic sense.

Fibreglass Repair FAQs
Can a cracked or crazed fibreglass surface be repaired without replacing it?
In most cases, yes. Cracks, star crazing, gouges and holes in GRP and fibreglass are rebuilt with resin and matting, then filled, sanded and re-finished so the repaired area is structurally sound again. Full replacement is usually only needed where the laminate has failed over a very large area or the substrate beneath has rotted.
Will the repair match the colour and finish of my existing fibreglass?
We colour-match the gelcoat or topcoat to your existing surface and blend the finish — whether it is a high-gloss shower tray, a matt panel or a textured GRP roof. Once cured and polished, a well-executed repair is very difficult to distinguish from the surrounding surface.
How long does a fibreglass repair take, and what affects the price?
Many repairs are completed in a single visit, though larger areas or multiple layers of laminate can take longer to build up and cure. The cost depends on the size and depth of the damage, the finish required and access to the area — the quickest way to find out is to send us a few photos for a fast, no-obligation quote.
