Which Tile Types Can Be Repaired?
We repair chips and cracks in porcelain, ceramic, natural stone (slate, limestone, sandstone) and concrete tiles used on balconies and terraces. Through-body porcelain tiles are generally the most repairable because the colour runs through the tile, meaning the repair compound only needs to match the surface colour rather than a cut cross-section.
Weather Considerations for Outdoor Tile Repair
Outdoor tile repair requires dry conditions and temperatures above 5°C for the repair compound to cure correctly. We schedule outdoor repairs accordingly — typically spring through autumn in the UK, or during extended dry spells.
Grout Repair and Re-Pointing on Terraces
Grout and pointing between terrace tiles often cracks and erodes over time, allowing water ingress. We can repair cracked grout joints alongside surface tile repairs, significantly extending the life of the terrace surface.
