One of the first questions we’re asked is: “Can this actually be fixed?” Here’s a straight answer for the most common types of damage.
What Can Be Repaired
Chips
Chips are among the most commonly repaired types of damage. Whether it’s a corner chip on a quartz worktop, a chip in a bath enamel, or a chunk out of a ceramic tile, chips can almost always be filled, colour-matched and finished invisibly. ✅
Scratches
Surface scratches on stone, laminate, wood, acrylic and composite can all be repaired. Deep scratches take more time and cost more, but are still usually fixable. Even long scratches running across a panel or floor board can be addressed. ✅
Cracks
Hairline cracks and larger cracks in worktops, baths, shower trays and tiles are repairable in most cases. The crack is cleaned, filled with a structural compound, cured and finished. ✅
Burn Marks
Burn marks from cigarettes, pots or irons on laminate, wood and stone worktops can usually be repaired. The scorched material is removed, the area is rebuilt with filler and re-finished. ✅
Water Damage
White water rings on wood furniture, swelling in laminate edges and watermarks on stone are all repairable. ✅
Impact Damage
Dents in wood, impact marks on stone and GRP panels — repairable in most cases. ✅
What Usually Can’t Be Repaired
Full Structural Breaks
If a stone slab or glass panel has broken completely in two, repair is generally not viable. Replacement is needed. ❌
Widespread Surface Degradation
If a surface has aged, faded or worn across the entire area — rather than a localised repair — refinishing or replacement may be more practical. ❌
Delamination Across Large Areas
Laminate that is lifting or bubbling across most of its surface is usually better replaced. Small areas of delamination can be re-adhered. ⚠️
