Getting an accurate quote for a surface repair is straightforward — but the more clearly you can describe and photograph the damage, the more accurate your quote will be. Here’s a guide to what information helps us provide the best possible estimate before your appointment.
What We Need to Provide a Quote
1. Clear Photos of the Damage
Photos are the most important thing. Take at least two — one showing the damage close up, and one showing the wider context (where it is on the surface, the overall condition). Good lighting is important: photograph the chip in natural daylight or with a torch if the area is dark. Avoid using flash, which can make chips look different to how they appear in person.
2. The Material
Tell us what material the surface is made from: granite, quartz, marble, laminate, acrylic, enamel, ceramic, porcelain, solid wood, and so on. If you’re not sure, describe what you know — for example “the kitchen worktop is a dark grey stone effect” or “the bath is white and lightweight.” We’ll use this to inform how we plan the repair approach.
3. The Approximate Size of the Damage
An approximate measurement helps us estimate repair time. A 5mm chip takes less time than a 30mm crack. You don’t need to be precise — just give us a rough indication. A photo with something for scale (a coin or a ruler) is even better.
4. The Location
Your postcode or town helps us confirm coverage and schedule the job efficiently. It also helps us allocate the most appropriate technician for your area.
How Quickly Can You Expect a Quote?
We aim to respond to all quote requests within one business day. Most quotes are provided the same day if your request is received before 3pm. Once you accept the quote, we’ll book an appointment at a time that suits you.
